Here are some of my favourite resources.
Websites
A handy site with advice on weather, growing vegetables and troubleshooting your garden.
A good site for clean living, growing your own food, raising chickens, garden planning, homesteading.
West Coast Seeds
Canadian Non GMO Seeds
National Centre for Home Food Preservation (USA)
Site that details how to preserve food in a ton of different ways and do it safely.
YouTubers
Family Farming channel with Jess and her Family. I’ve been following them for years and they recently upgraded eto a larger property. If you go back in the videos there are some great tips for garden planning and in particular vertical gardening which helped me tons when I had a small space.
A sweet retired couple doing what they love. I followed them when they were at their old house and Hollis’s videos on growing specific things, like onions, tomatoes etc are excellent. He does things step by step. They’re a Christian couple and end with a prayer which ove always found inspiring. They are one of the reasons I grow extra food and donate it to local food banks.
These guys are a couple that moved from Oregon to Alaska to build a homestead and live their dreams. If you live in a colder climate this is a great channel. It’s also fun because they showcase the Alaskan landscape beautifully.
